Chess Moves Visualiser
See how each chess piece moves on a bright, kid-friendly board.
This chess visualiser is not a full competitive game. Instead, it is a gentle teaching tool that shows children how each piece can move. The board uses simple colours and familiar symbols so that kids can focus on the patterns.
When a child taps a piece button such as Pawn, Rook or Knight, the board highlights a place where that piece could stand. It then marks the squares that the piece is allowed to move to from that position. For example, rooks slide in straight lines, bishops travel on diagonals and knights hop in an โLโ shape.
Kids can tap different piece buttons again and again to see how the highlighted squares change. This slow, visual repetition helps them build a mental picture of the board without the stress of timers or tricky rules.
Later, when they are ready, these patterns can be used inside a real chess game. For now, the visualiser is simply a friendly and safe playground for thinking and curiosity.

What the Colours Mean
- The centre square with the piece is highlighted with a soft glow.
- All squares that the piece can move to are marked in a gentle green tone.
- The rest of the board stays calm and dark so kids can focus on the pattern.
- You can tap another piece button at any time to see a new pattern.
This tool is ideal for explaining chess to beginners. Adults can talk through each pattern slowly and ask children to describe what they see. Over time, they will start recognising these shapes inside real games.
